This New Budget Allows For A Higher Deduction
Starting this year, as a result of the SECURE 2.0 Act of 2022 and the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, those who have reached the age of 65 are eligible for a new deduction in addition to the standard deduction that they currently enjoy. If married and both spouses are 65 or older, it brings this additional deduction amount to $12,000, and that provides real opportunities for some seniors.
In order to receive this deduction, you must meet certain requirements, so be sure to talk to our office about your needs. We’re here to help you make positive money moves, and that means listening. Guardian understands the financial landscape for the North Texas senior, so just reach out.
Roth Contribution Limits Remain Consistent For Now
While there are some changes, some things related to Roth IRAs remain the same, too. Roth contribution limits are an example of this, as they stay unchanged from last year. For those under the age of 50, this is $7,000 annually, and those who are older can contribute an additional $1,000 to their account. Contribution thresholds also continue to remain consistent, so if you have questions about your earning, we can help you to make sense of your situation.
